Is that you, Marley?

We experienced a Marley moment the other day. Have you seen the movie?

A few days ago, I took Hudson to the vet to get his sutures removed from his neuter surgery. He was wound up...beyond excited.

First, to be wearing his leash.

Second, for the car ride.

Third, to be in a place where there were other dogs and smells.

So we filled out some paperwork (we ventured to a new vet because we weren't fond of our previous one here)...that was quite a show. Did I mention he didn't have his pinch collar on because it was in Matthew's car?

Anyway, they are having me fill out paperwork while holding Hudson by his leash. He's pulling in every direction. Meanwhile, random scribble marks are made all over the paperwork because I can't control a clipboard, a pen, the papers, and a dog on a leash who is pumped!

If only he knew what was coming...

They finally come to get us...but actually only Hudson. I thought that was a little odd. Nonetheless, Hudson pulls the poor vet technician back to the room. When all of the sudden, I hear some loud noises coming from down the hall.

I sit on the edge of my seating...waiting...to see if they need me.

I hear bellowing and whining and yelping. I hear the front desk person ask if that's the dog getting its sutures removed. The other person kindly replies that it is indeed. Oh boy!

I wasn't sure what to do...should I ask them if I can go back? Or wait to see if his bellowing stops?

No, it doesn't stop...until I see him come trotting out of the room. Boy, was he glad to see me. And boy, I'm even more glad Matthew didn't try to take them out himself.

It was worth the $12 to have them removed by the professionals.

So we check out, pay our bill, and head outside to potty before getting in the car. Hudson doesn't act interested in using the grass for his toilet so we jump in the car. Now this is where it gets good...

About two blocks after leaving the vet's office, I look back to check on Hudson. He appears to be squatting in the backseat. Are you kidding me? I start yelling no, no, no! I grab his collar and try to get him to just sit down.

FAIL!

He proceeds to poop ALL OVER the backseat. Not only did he just poop, but he decided it would be best to step in it and walk all over the seat. And...he strategically aimed to get it into the seatbelt holder and loops between the seats. Lovely, dog. Just lovely!

And it SMELLS! People are staring at me with my windows down and sunroof open. Who cares if it's -10 degrees outside, did you know my dog just pooped, IN MY CAR? I wouldn't be surprised if the car next to us could smell it, too.

We did make it home. Hudson made it into his kennel, after I wiped his paws off in the snow that covered our yard. Then, I stomached it up and got to cleaning.

I took a while to clean it up....I used carpet cleaner, hot water, and dish soap. It still smells a little.

Before you hop into the car to catch a ride with us, you might want to ask which car first?

(You can thank me later for sparing you the pictures.)

Kandace, that is hilarious...I'm sure not for you. Joey once did something similar in my car. Oh the joys of a pup.
