puppy fever.

From the moment we laid eyes on you. We loved. Your precious little tail, your floppy ears, and your soft fur. We loved.
Your enthusiasm for play and being outside. We loved.
From your first bath. We loved (you did not).
From our first cuddles. We loved.
From your first time playing fetch with daddy. We loved. (and you're still working on it...)
From watching you lay on your huge bed (who can believe that one day you'd fill up the whole thing). We loved.
You were one handsome puppy. We loved.
From teaching you to walk on your walks, instead of jumping along. We loved.
From afternoon naps. We loved (we got to nap, too!).
From your lanky stage of awkward puppiness. We loved (seriously, check out those HUGE ears!).
Stumbling across the pictures of Hudson as a puppy makes me want one.
I have puppy fever (and don't tell Matthew, but I think he does too!).
I just can't get his little cuteness out of my mind. But then slowly, I remember. This soft, cuddly, little guy only lasts for about 6ish months.
Then he grows up.
And becomes a beastly 90lb dog (who we love very, very dearly!).
And the fur that comes with him plus another one would be insurmountable (I already think that the hair is everywhere!).
And the vet visits, the poop scooping, the food costs can wait just a while longer, I suppose.
Oh yes, remember this?
We can definitely wait.
Maybe next year another little poocher will join our family!
(and in case you are wondering...yes, the next little pupster is already named.)

He's still a cutie, but he was so adorable as a puppy. And he was an awesome traveler when he was just a pup too.
