I dropped poocher off at Camp Bow Wow for the weekend and we left on Friday around noon for our weekend trip to Ann Arbor. We had a fabulous and fun weekend and couldn't have asked for more beautiful weather!!!

We apparently forgot from last year that the toll from the eastern Ohio border to Toledo, Ohio cost $11 (and repeat on the way home)!!! It was insane. And we had to pay a $3.75 toll on our way back into PA. So 25 bucks on toll money. That's nuts if you ask me!

We checked into our hotel (
which was actually really nice and remodeled!). It was funny because when we left to go to dinner and the hockey game, not many cars were there yet but when we got back later that night, the lot was full! And there were cars from New Jersery, PA, New York, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio....and you could tell they came for the game! People are dedicated fans!!!

On Friday night, we went to New York Pizza Depot to grab pizza and salad before the hockey game with a couple of Matthew's friends.

Michigan played Miami-Ohio in hockey. It was a great game but it seemed like the ref's were a little for the other team. Some bad calls!

We did get to see a penalty shot (which Matthew says NEVER happens!) but it bounched off the sidepost.

Sadly, Michigan lost
(we'll give them a little credit: they were playing the #1 team in the country).
Matthew loved being back in Yost Ice Arena.
And
hockey is actually so fun to watch!

After the game we went to Arbor Brewing Company for chips and salsa and a drink! I love that Ann Arbor is a walking campus....we parked and walked to dinner, down to the arena, back up to another popular street, and then to the brewery and back to the car. It was a little chilly but so nice to walk place to place!
(part II and III coming soon!)
