We found a huge open field that has fences surrounding it (is that an oxymoron?) just down the street from where we live. 
Matthew really wants to teach Hudson to come and to fetch and return it so we went there tonight just before dark.
Hudson is sitting handsomely, smiling, and waiting.
"Oh come on, I see the bumper...now you need to pick it up and throw it for me."
Matthew bought 100 feet of rope so that Hudson could fetch, but Matthew still had control of him.
And I couldn't not have a picture with him.
We only left with one rope burn each - both on our legs. Nonetheless, Hudson's working on it. And hopefully soon he'll master it so he can go hunting with M this fall and winter. He just loves to play! In fact, as I type this he has placed his football right next to me, sitting, and waiting for me to throw it for him. He's a pretty super dog!
