pool day with the girls.

We had a pool day at my sister's new neighborhood pool!

After some swimming, we went to lunch and did some shopping!  What a fun day!

the pheasant.

Thanks, G-ma Harken for sewing up my pheasant for me to play with again!
Hudson had really missed playing with this toy but now he has it back and he's a very happy poocher! (and we love how the one foot just hangs there, instead of having two!)

playin' fetch.

We found a huge open field that has fences surrounding it (is that an oxymoron?) just down the street from where we live. Matthew really wants to teach Hudson to come and to fetch and return it so we went there tonight just before dark.
Hudson is sitting handsomely, smiling, and waiting.
"Oh come on, I see the bumper...now you need to pick it up and throw it for me."
Matthew bought 100 feet of rope so that Hudson could fetch, but Matthew still had control of him.
And I couldn't not have a picture with him.
We only left with one rope burn each - both on our legs. Nonetheless, Hudson's working on it. And hopefully soon he'll master it so he can go hunting with M this fall and winter. He just loves to play! In fact, as I type this he has placed his football right next to me, sitting, and waiting for me to throw it for him. He's a pretty super dog!

three rivers heritage trail.

Today, we went out to Three Rivers Heritage Trail to go for a long walk. It was hot and humid but we enjoyed the sights.
Poocher man is so excited to go. He can't wait to get wherever that may be. Usually, he wears himself out before we even get there because he's so pumped.
The two men in my life. Love them!
Beautiful scenery.
Lots of boats were loading and unloading today at the boat ramp. We saw a lot on the river and it looked very refreshing to jump right in.
This pupster was exhausted when we finally made it back to the car. He has been sleeping pretty much all evening. And something happened to his paw too...we think it's just raw from the heat and the concrete. Poor guy.
Matthew and Hudson chasing the birds.
It was a neat trail and if it wasn't as hot as it was we probably would've walked to Point State Park, where the three rivers meet. Maybe another day!

won't touch it.

Not sure why but if Hudson's football lands near the shower or somehow lands randomly like this, he will stare at it forever and look at us like he's asking us to get it for him. Silly boy!

Now if only his mother could throw the football well, then it probably wouldn't land like this. Or better yet, who said it was okay to play football in the house? Well, he's spoiled and just too darn cute, not to play.

goodbye puppy bone

Hudson had a nylabone fish that was made for puppies from his g-ma and g-pa Harken. Anyway, we recently found it under the couch and pulled it out for him. He acted like he had not seen it in ages (which is probably true since it was under the couch!) The other night Matthew and I noticed that he was really going to town on it. So much that the entire tail was gone...so he had to say goodbye to it for forever. He also had his other relatively new bone (probably since Christmas-time) made for adult dogs. Well this was chewed to the bone too.
So we decided to get him a new bone! He loves it so much that he ran around the house for a good hour just chasing it and carrying it in his mouth.

a somewhat nice, but mucky day

It was in the 50's here today! Our ice/snow mix melted some and we were able to spend a lot of time outside.

We took Hudson for a walk and ventured to the dog park, all 67lbs of him. He just keeps getting heavier and taller.

Anyway, he had a blast splashing around in the mud from all the snow melt.
Unfortunately, I was not thinking about it being muddy and my running shoes now look like this:
Check out the mud splashes:
His under belly was covered in mud and wet, dirty water.
He went straight to the bathtub when we got home! He loved it all (except for the bath).
