pillows complete.

For now, I can say that I'm finished making new pillows for our living room.  I'm sure I'll have a feeling to make some new ones come summertime.
I'm loving the orange for spring/summer and hints of blue on the other pillow which match our newly painted buffet rather well (pics coming soon!).

sewing!

Remember this stack of fabric?
Some of it was turned into baby burp cloths, some into drapes, some into my craft table and some into....

Pillows!
There are two more pillows to make...and they match the orange in the first pillow!

snow day sewing and then some.

There have been a few projects I've been wanting to work on and with the snow days, it was the perfect time...
I hadn't had my sewing machine out since way before we moved from PA so it was nice to see it again and remember how to work it.  Ha!
 Lots of ideas...lots of fabric.
Hudson had to keep a close eye...
My mom came over to help me make some pillow covers and she's also working on an apron for me for my birthday.
This precious little girl and her mommy stopped by for a visit.  Blakely wanted to play with all the scraps!
One project finished...new valences in our office/craft room.
And some baby burp cloths for a baby boy...
 and a baby girl.
Hopefully, we'll soon be finished with the pillow covers (1 down, 4ish to go...) and I'm also working on creating a craft table.  Can't wait!

a sewing kind of day.

Today, I pulled out the sewing machine and got busy!Hudson needed a new dog bed. He really knows how to wear out a dog bed. Is that normal? I guess he's only had two but anyway, they are expensive. I popped into JoAnn's and bought some fabric on clearance for $2.50 and two bags of poly-fill for $2.99/bag. So for $8.60 and a little bit of my time, he has a new bed. I stitched the fabric together, stuffed it, and now it's sewn shut! Hopefully he likes it. It's super cushy and fits in his kennel perfectly!
I also made some more burp cloths for niece #2 who will be arriving soon!
While they aren't perfect, I sure do think they are cute!

it's supposed to be a surprise...

But my sister already knows about it. So this is what I've made for Blakely. It's not perfect but I think it's pretty cute for her to lay and play on.

Sewing, Sewing, Sewing!

Some things I've been working on for Blakely.
It looks like a blanket but it's not! It's a PLAYPAD!
And it's for the grandma's house, not my sister's!
Hudson watches on as I sew away.

Love all of the fun fabrics!

Here's a close up of some of my favorite prints.
These burp cloths were easy to make!

And there's more to come!

An Evening at Home

Tonight:I worked hard at the sewing machine.
My handsome husband read the paper and entertained the pupster for me.
I accomplished this (although it's not quite done), along with another surprise for Blakely! I can't wait to share them when they're finished. Too bad I ran out of thread on my bobbin and didn't feel like threading it again tonight.

Learning to Sew with my Singer

Today, I unpacked it and decided I'd give it a shot. With Matthew's help and instruction (on parts I didn't quite understand), we threaded it and I was able to sew some stitches, of which it has about 30!Thanks, Mom & Dad for a wonderful gift!!!!

(I'm becoming a more domesticated wife.)
